When you apply a segment, SegmentOS automatically scans every question and surfaces the most meaningful ways that group differs from your overall sample — so you don't have to eyeball every chart.
Where to find it
Apply a segment on a study's results page (see Segmenting your results), then look at the top of the Overview tab. The Notable differences panel lists the standout findings for the active segment.
How to read it
Each line shows a magnitude chip, the finding, and the question it came from. For example:
- 2.3× more likely to choose "Mobile app" — Which channel do you use most?
- +12 pts more likely to choose "Employee" — What best describes you?
- −18 pts rate lower than average — How satisfied are you overall?
Findings are ranked by how strongly they stand out. Choice differences are shown as a multiplier (when the base rate is high enough) or a point difference; scale questions show how the average shifts.
Confidence & sample size
- With a healthy segment (~20+ responses), findings are shown without a caveat.
- With a smaller segment, you'll see an "Early signal" badge — the differences are directional, so collect more responses before relying on them.
- If a segment is too small or nothing meaningful stands out, the panel says so rather than inventing a finding.
Tips
- Use it as a starting point, then click into the Questions tab to see the full comparison for any finding.
- The locked count (e.g. "+9 more differences") grows with your data — the more responses you collect, the more the panel finds.
