Multi-Language Support
SegmentOS supports translating your survey into multiple languages, so respondents see the survey in their preferred language.
Setting Up Languages
- Go to the Translations tab in the survey builder.
- Set your Source Language — the language your survey is authored in.
- Add target languages using the Add Language dropdown.
Translation Methods
AI-Powered Translation
Click AI Translate All to automatically translate all questions into the selected language. The AI understands question context and produces natural-sounding translations.
- Translations preserve question structure, options, and scales.
- The system skips already-translated questions to avoid unnecessary costs.
- You can review and edit AI translations before publishing.
Manual Translation
Expand each question and manually enter translations for:
- Question text
- Description/help text
- Answer options
- Scale labels
- Matrix rows and columns
Translation Progress
Each language shows a progress bar indicating what percentage of questions have been translated. The progress bar turns green when fully translated.
How It Works for Respondents
When a respondent opens your survey, the system checks their browser language settings. If a translation exists for that language, they see the translated version. Otherwise, they see the source language.
